Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) by Dirt Glue Enterprises
When development commences the first thing on everyone's mind these days is the Clean Water Act and creating a Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan. Because of the effectiveness of DirtGlue products they should be spec'd into every SWPPP to give the developer the best possible protection from regulatory issues but often times due to lack of awareness of these products this does not happen. For example, the use of DirtGlue Light polymer emulsion can be thought of as a proactive approach to the control or elimination of TSS in stormwater run-off. Haybales and siltfence on the other hand are actually reactive. The engineer and the excavating contractor both know that disturbed soil will lead to high TSS in the run-off so their solution is to catch the sediment after it is already on the move. The better approach would be to apply DirtGlue as the soil on site is disrupted and prevent or minimize the "fines", sediments, and soil from moving in the first place. This has the benefit of preventing the siltfence from becoming overwhelmed and it also prevents drainage swales, drainage structures, etc from excess siltation.
Once the project is underway, stockpiles can be capped to prevent windborne erosion and subsequent dust problems as well as prevent the fines from being washed out of the piles during rain events. Temporary embankment stabilization is fast simple and very effective with DirtGlue. Also hydroseed applications benefit because germination is assured and washouts are almost nonexistent.
Construction roads, haul roads and access roads can benefit greatly with an application of DustLess. Once applied to these the control remains in effect for up to a year regardless of type or number of traffic. This has the benefit of keeping the abutters happy, keeping the workers happy and healthy, and as a side benefit the equipment is cleaner and requires less maintenance and down time for lubrication and filter changes.
