ArenaKleen™ Dust Control in Dressage Arenas

Dust is a very serious health hazard for both riders & their horses in the horse arena. ArenaKleen is an inexpensive & effective dust suppressant that eliminates health hazards. A horse arena dust control product enables both horses and riders to enjoy their daily activities without working up a dust storm. ArenaKleen improves the cushioning effect of the arena footing material. It also improves the traction and support of the arena. Horse arena dust control products can be used in stables, arenas or padlocks where dust is recurring problem.

ArenaKleen arena dust control can be used with typical arena footing materials like sand, stone dust, screened gravel, and various blends of these products. ArenaKleen is also effective with fibrous materials like leather, rubber, wood and associated combinations. Silicosis is a serious disease causes by inhalation of crystalline silica dust. Riders and instructors who work in horse arenas suffer from this occupational hazard. ArenaKleen is an effective and inexpensive means of controlling the dust & keeping the arena soft & springy.

Wetting the arena dust provides optimum moisture content (OMC). If the OMC is exceeded, then dust becomes sticky & turns to mud. Mud dries layer by layer, the top layer dries first, leading to flying dust that chokes both horse & rider. This form of horse dust control is temporary & doesn’t last long.

The horse dust control product should coat each sand/dust particle and also be absorbed by each particle. This ensures that each dust particle remains in contact with each other. Such arena dust control products ensure firm footing, no stickiness/tracking. Riding arena dust suppressant products are typically effective for about a year. They reduce the need to water the arena footing on a regular basis. Outdoor arena dust isn’t adversely affected by freezing during winter.

Riding arena dust control applications will be absorbed faster by soil with higher clay content. This means that the dust control product need to applied more often initially to make for greater initial absorption rate. Softer rock aggregate arena footing breaks up more often than harder substances. So the ArenaKleen horse dust control product needs to be applied more frequently.

Strenuous activities such as cattle roping, gymkhana, bronco riding, and penning churn the arena footing unintentionally. This reduces the lifespan of the dust control product.
